I am so high..(not really)

Picreel

Feeling sparkly

Truth

Made me smile even though I'm not a cat-person.

I would like to live there
The dining room would look like this
my office like this (the bed is for power naps! Sleeping 15 mins and then going back to work, feeling totally refreshed!)
This would be in the garden (not sure if I already had that, but it's so awesome, you can look at it twice^^)
The way upstairs to my secret library in the attic.
The hidden door to my secret cozy, comfy library.

Tiny feeling like going out (Not really :D but I like the pic and I would like to take a closer look at the shoes..)

Something to think about.

That's it you little naughty rascals.
Hope you liked the pics!
Found them via etc..

Honey, I shrunk the... pullover

Okay, my primal euphoria seems to be over :D
Obviously a grey wool pullover did not survive
the stage of the washing programme
and since I hope that baring the midriff
(or even more baring the love handles)
will never ever be in again,
I threw it away without causing too much attention.
You will not tell anyone, will you?^^

The Stimulus Package

Sounds naughty but don't be scared (...or disappointed, I knoooow youuu! :D)

Pretty cool idea though!

Tegan and Sara

Whoa I totally forgot how cute these two lovely ladies are!

The pic is from their myspace page.

I also recommend

(Sorry, the quality sucks big time.. My mp3 version is so much better!)

Then and now

Whoa, this pic is pretty old.
But I liked my hairstyle..

This pic was made today:

And by the way:

This is somehow my weekend soundtrack:

Actually I don't listen to stuff like this too often but today I like it :)

Hardworking *cough*

So yeah, this is how it looks if Tiny is preparing for an exam:

It's a tough job but it's gotta be done by someone :D

Have a great weekend all my lovely readers.

Underwater

Picture by Matt Adcock, Georgia US

I've been surfing the internet for a couple of days now to find the best underwater pics possible.
They remind me of summer and stuff.

So there you go:

Elena Kalis is really amazing!
Do you think she needs models?
Did I mention I love to swim? :)

Jacek Wiesnowski, New York

Aww gawd.. these pics make me long for summer even more than before..
Pleeeaaaase no more snow!!

Beyond cute

Ok, so actually this is super cheesy but I seriously love it:

There was this very annoying, obese female patient who wanted the epidural anesthesia so bad. When the doctor explained it to her and wanted to start she said:
"What? I will notice what's going on? I will not sleep? I don't want it anymore!"
So he had to change everything and got more and more annoyed..

So when this lady was already under anesthesia he bend down to her head and whispered:
"And because you were such naughty hussy, you will not get a pillow from me, ha!"

He said it in a pretty funny voice.
I admit: I laughed..

27.01.10

Oui, beaucoup!

Très intense.

Getting nerdy..

So I've been thinking about supernatural powers, heros and stuff like that all day.
My favourite Superheroes?

Easy!

Male Superhero:
Dr. Manhattan

Pic by rowthree.com

Even though he is more godlike than anything else.

Female Superhero:
Zelda (thehe)

Pic by Wikipedia.com

I guess this is one of the things that influenced my childhood.

Major Awesome and I invented a Superhero name for me too:

Serpentine (I used to be able to peel my skin of too (I know...) but not anymore!)

If I was a super hero I would like to be able to read the mind of other people.
But I would like to be able to turn it off if I want.
(For mental health, you know?)

What would you like to be able to do?
Becoming invisible?
Shooting laser beams?
Being super flexible to touch your own toes with the back of your head?

Inspiration

I love the part with the ribcage.
Exactly what I needed right now :)

Ok, let's be honest:

I hate it to get up early when it's super warm and comfy in my bed but annoyingly cold and hostile outside.

I hate snow.

I hate it when it's fucking freezing and you feel like your toes are going to die a painful, slow death.

But on the other hand:
There are this rare amazing moments when you are just overwhelmed because everything is so beautiful it almost hurts..

When you don't give a damn that your hair will look like an old mop
or that you'll get the worst cold ever.

Moments like these make me very calm and -even though this sounds super cheesy-
thankful.

I sung this on my way to the hospital:

"A city sparkles in the night
How can it glow so bright?
The neighbourhoods surround the soft fluorescent light
Designer skyline in my head
Abstract and still well-read
You went from numbered lines to buildings overhead.."

Photo taken by Tiny (2010)

"If I could"

"A brand new baby was born yesterday,
Just in time
Papa cried, baby cried
Said, your tears are like mine
I heard some words
from a friend on the phone,
didn't sound so good
The doctor gave him two weeks to live
I'd give him more if I could

You know that I would now
If only I could
You know that I would now
If only I could

Down the middle drops one more
grain of sand
They say that
new life makes losing life easier to understand
Words are kind
they help ease the mind
I miss my old friend
And though you gotta go
we'll keep a piece of your soul
One goes out
One comes in

You know that I would now
If only I could
You know that I would now
If only I could..."

I've been to an exhibition yesterday which was super amazing!

This made me smile:

A little boy saw all the coins on this little platform and asked his mum:
"Mum, why do people throw money on this?"
Mother:" I don't know honey, maybe they wish for luck."
He thought about this for a few seconds and replied:
"Can I throw some money on it, too?"
She answered: "No, sweety."
He said: " But I wanna be lucky too!
His mum smiled and said: "You are lucky!"

I liked this one too:

Photo taken by Tiny (2010)

Very romantic in a slightly illegal but heartwarming way.

This made me feel very uncomfortable in my feet.

Arteries in a human brain.

Oh look, Major Awesome was there too and looked very philosophical.

Geez.. this sucks somehow, so: Yeah, all the pics are taken by me! Don't steal them! :D

Gallery

Hey folks.
Not feeling very creative today, so here are just a few pics I really liked this week:

Wale

Heart - breakfast

Weightless ( I reeeally like this one)

Playing footsie

Little Alex

A very "Midsummer Night's Dream" inspired wedding. Cheesy up to the limit but cute.

I would definetely wear these and these!

Beautiful Chocolate Packaging Designs (I seriously want them all!)

So yeah. Have a beautiful weeking all you lil rascalettes in teeny weeny sandalettes and flirty skirties. Or something like that :D

PS:

This couple on my way home yesterday officially made my week.
The guy seemed to leave and kissed his girlfriend goodbye when she put her arms around him, pretending she would'nt let him go.
Then he swirled her in that Hollywoodlike manner down and gave her a short passionate kiss and put her back up to her feet again.
When they noticed me passing by, they bot turned red and smiled.
Had to smile back.
Effing cute!

Help I'm alive!

The song is by Metric.

Did you ever hear a heart breaking?
It sounds painful.

"I'm not Sophie!!"

Day II in the operating rooms.
It's still pretty interesting.

I hate just one thing:
There is this one nurse who calls me Sophie all the time.

"Sophie, honey, could you get this and that for me?"
"My name is not Sophie. I'm Tiny."
"Of course you are."

"Oh, Sophie, look, this and that!"
"My name is Tiny. I am not Sophie!"
"Yeah, right."

"And this our trainee, this cutie is called Sophie."
"I am not Sophie!!!"

It's a pretty name but I get the feeling more and more she does it on purpose.
Gonna call her Daria when we meet again tomorrow.

Oh and yeah:
This squishy, red thing in the bowl is a part of the colon of a patient.

And that thing below is his aforementioned colon split up and cleaned.
The red, orange, yellow stuff is fat-tissue.

Random music video

Not sure about the song. Groovy or totally annoying? Can't decide..

Extraball- Yuksek

YUKSEK | MySpace Music Videos

Totally like the style of the video though.
Had the hairstyle of the girl once!
As time goes by..

Edit:

Listened to it a couple of times now.
I like it.

Guess I'm a little bit sentimental..

Today I hold the hand of a female patient firmly in mine,
who received an artificial hip.
Then I realised she was already under anaesthesia, duh.. ~.~"

Felt a little bit sentimental in this second.

I think I like it to be in the operating rooms though.

This is her Caput femoris by the way.
Didn't know that the Spongiosa makes crackling sounds when you press your finger in it.
I know...

Links, links, links..

Actually I opened this page and thought:
Whoa.. how nice and stylish and awesome this looks. Very classy, they seem so happy..
But then I scrolled my way down the page and when I saw the pics of him and her walking down the street together my jaw dropped down to my feet.
Holy cracker! Will someone please cook her a nutrional meal?

This is a pretty cool idea: Then and now
People took old childhood photographs and tried to recreate them.
Notice: Some of them looked happier as a child, some of them look happier today.
Life is not always kind, right?

Since 3-D is totally in now, I found a fashion photoshoot which is supposed to be in 3-D.
I don't get it though.
Tried it with 3-D glasses and without.
Not a big difference or is it just me?
PS: There was a site online called: Three DD
I guess you know what was exposed there.. But don't click on it. It's offline, I swear!^^
(Three DD)

The ultimate tree house. I would live in there.

A photo taken there would be a perfect facebook, myspace or whatever profile pic!
I would be scared to death but it would be amazing..
Colon diseases and skin infections on the other hand don't sound too promising.
(Mentioned in the comments!)

This sums up my feeling about sundays in general!

1 Million

Dr. G showed me this and all I can say is: Yes, please?

The glitter-belt is freaking ugly though o.O"

There's always a first time

I finally did it!

I did my laundry all by myself!

Yeah, I know! Exciting..

Looks pretty awesome though:

At least I don't have to worry about colored laundry or the notorious red sock between white shirts.

If this day had a soundtrack... IX

Can't stop thinking about this song.
Don't know why.

13.01.10

Murphy's law

It's totally normal that when you have to get up early, you snooze until your finger hurts and it's seems more and more impossible to ever leave the bed in time.
(Although somehow I always manage it to be in time though, haha)

But when you can sleep as long as you want, you wake up at 5:30 (!!!) and there is no (and I mean no!) way to fall asleep again..

So what to do?

Randomly + pointlessly surfing the internet.

I like this picture.

Have you ever heard of Kadikchan? Me neither^^
Looks pretty interesting though.

Pretty creepy ghost town: San Zhi.

Even more abandoned places!

Something more comfortable and inviting:

Awesome apartments!

Aaaaaand:

Awesome pools!
I would like to spend a few hours in the one with the shark tank and in the last one.

Commercial

Thoughts:

Wow.
Nice dress.
Pretty nice shoes (yeah, can't help it)
Cute ears.
Takes place in Paris -> Nice!
Face went from: :) to o.O" went he's standing on the balcony and she comes down in that very Spiderman like manner.
Creepy.
Stupid perfume name.

Don't get me wrong..^^

Wow I like the idea behind this:

I'll be gone from KORB on Vimeo.

The song is okay.
Not overwhelming but pretty laid back when you are sitting on your sofa looking at pictures of penises. Yes, you've read right.

(It's not for my personal pleasure of course, you lil' naughty rascals!
It's the next topic for my exam! I'm just learning the cross-sectional anatomy, ooookay? :D)

Biosphere

It's not a secret that lapetitefuturedoctoresse is very much into abandoned buildings but this one
takes it to a whole new level!

There's a mini ocean in there! How cool is that??

"Well.. he didn't mention that.."

Once I overheard the conversation between two female patients.

Pat. 1: "So it turned out that my dog had diabetes. I had to inject him insulin everyday!"

Pat. 2 *noddsunderstandingly* "That was surely pretty hard for you, right?"

Pat. 1: "Yeah and then he went blind as a late consequence.."

Pat. 2: *shakesherhead* "Oh dear.. He surely became impotent too, right?"

Pat. 1: *looksherstraightintheeyes* *verydeadpan* "Well.. He didn't mention that."

I laughed the whole way until I arrived at my ward.

Do less, slow down

Yeah! Just what I was waiting for!

Check:

The International Institute of not doing much

Since we all know that sleeping less than 6 hours per night and having too much stress increases your heart attack risk dramatically, this a perfect start for 2010!

The ten tips how you don't do much

1. Drink a cup of tea, put your feet up and stare idly out of the window. Warning: Do not attempt this while driving.

2. Do one thing at a time. Remember multitasking is a moral weakness (except for women who have superior brain function.)

3. Do not be pushed into answering questions. A response is not the same as an answer. Ponder, take your time.

4. Learn our Slow Manifesto.

5. Yawn often. Medical studies have shown lots of things, and possibly that yawning may be good for you.

6. Spend more time in bed. You have a better chance of cultivating your dreams (not your aspirations.)

7. Read the slow stories.

8. Spend more time in the bathtub. (See letter from Major Smythe-Blunder.)

9. Practice doing nothing. (Yes this is the difficult one.)

10. Avoid too much seriousness. Laugh, because you’re live on earth for a limited time only.

So, I am going to start with No. 1 ( This looks like the perfect place to begin being lazy!)

Happy lounging you all!

03.01.10

This modern world

There was an article in the newspaper yesterday, that people believe that everything gets faster, stressful, harder to find something you can rely on in this throwaway society.

"...The world is turning on,
and some things are
just the way they are, they are.
The world is turnin on,
and some things are
just the way they, just the way they are..."

(Patrice - Clouds)

So a few days ago I had a very interesting talk about life in general.
Is it possible to achieve everything you want to or do you always have to cut back?
A or B? Coffee or tea? Getting up early or sleeping all day?
Learning or cheating?
Calling back or giving an effing shit?

You catch my drift.

I can't become a scuba-diving teacher on the Maldive Islands and also become a doctor here.
I can't travel the world and stay at home in my cosy bed at the same time.
I can't make it happen while I struggle and think about it.

A or B?

I envy people who have this certain: "Naw, things are gonna work since they've always worked!" attitude.

How are you going to fulfill your dreams? Or are you just doing things?
I would love to know how other folks are planning to become what they dream of.

So yeah.. How shall I end this post?
No idea! :)

See you soon (hopefully)!

Oh, and by the way:
Is there a new trend I completely overslept?
Since when do people write this on every car:

This is Radiohead's "Creep" sung by a homeless guy.
Pretty intense, I think.
